that was then but this is now

Magik is the moment of creating
realms within realms
that blissful rapture
into freedom
of the imagination
and joy of the soul

Magik is the moment
of moments when
even time appears
with trickery
of the mind
in person

Magik is not
easily spoken of
without killing
some of it
in the process
so care should
be taken
in the utterances
thereof

that

only by magik
may one truthfully
express the finer
points of the art
magic of the pen
and the hand
who gently serves
the higher mind
by intimacy
and enthusiasm
divine

this dance of the joyous hand
upon the floor of letters
in the hall of mind
and the dancer
knowing only
music
and the music
thereof

this movement
of the ghostly
in the light
of may
and the observer
therein
seeing phenomena
as it rises and descends
in the valley of  cherubim

the mysterious
outpouring of silence
from the cup of
wisdom
and the drinker
thereof
enlightened
by ecstatic
whisper

for let it be known
that beyond the sound
of words and their meaning
one finds a greater peace
unspeakable of
and divine

that though
i love the expression
and the symbol
thereof
it is by no
means an obsession
of mine
nor a decease
of some kind

that though
i express myself
as though i was
educated at foxford
i merely enjoy
the free flow
of inspiration
ye know

much can be said
about nothing at all
but i rather speak
nonsense any time
of the day
to mock the seriousness
of the program

i am one who
mocks and blasphemes
the established law
of thought in the fabric
of man
with love
and the love
thereof

i am a genuine hippy
in a material world
working against
the machinery
with psychedelic
tricks n herbs

i am i am i am
a big ego about
to explode any minute
any second any hour
any day of the year
allways allways
exploding
imploding
did i just hear
someone yodeling?

and why?`

is it me
or is it not in fact
a british authour of odd books
who dvells within
who lives again
through me
and feeds me
with these old
british thoughts
of the country
with horses manure
and tea in the kitchen
trays of buiscuits
and pictures of
her majesty
the queen
dancing lively
to a fiddler
on the roof
